Occupational Therapist

In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health), patient and staff safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone; as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.

Working without general supervision, the Occupational Therapist works as a member of a multidisciplinary team, providing occupational therapy services to Mental Health & Substance Use clients and their caregivers, referred to the team. He or she serves as a consultant/resource to referral agencies, care facilities, and caregivers. Provides general occupational therapy clinical services to team clients and participates in the provision of education to the client, caregiver, service provider and the public related to Mental Health & Substance Use.
