About the Employer
I am both the employer and mother to my young son who has been allocated 4 hours per week PA support via direct payment My son has autism spectrum disorder (ASD), Learning Difficulties and is nonverbal. He wears nappies so will require personal care (changing) and maintaining his personal hygiene when out and about He has restricted speech, however, can communicate effectively in relation to his needs and wants. He uses eye contact, facial gestures and leads by hand (hand over hand) when he wants something, or wishes to go somewhere I am seeking a PA to provide my son with 1-1 support to access social activities within the community, encourage and develop his socialization and independence and provide us with a break from our caring role. My son loves the outdoors, he is extremely active and strong-willed, so he will require someone fit and full of energy to match.
