Position Overview

Overview The Separations and Bioprocessing group in the Applied Materials Division (AMD) at Argonne National Laboratory has an opening for a postdoctoral appointee. This position involves developing and scaling cost‐effective methods for separating and converting materials using mechanical and hydrometallurgical techniques. The researcher may also work with companies to research and validate unique lithium‐ion battery recycling processes, requiring innovative approaches that go beyond the use of pilot scale or commercialized equipment. Candidates must have the ability to design and build experimental apparatus and be flexible and willing to learn new techniques. The role focuses on improving Li‐ion battery and critical materials supply chains.
