Job summary

The band 6 Mammographer will play a key role in delivering a high-quality, efficient breast screening and diagnostic imaging service within the Breast Unit. The postholder will perform the full range of mammographic procedures independently, applying professional judgement and technical expertise to produce accurate diagnostic images while maintaining the highest standards of patient care and dignity. They will provide clear explanations to patients, assess clinical needs, adapt techniques to individual circumstances, and give provisional reports on screening mammograms in line with established protocols.
The role also includes supporting and guiding colleagues, supervising radiographers, students and assistants, and contributing to multidisciplinary team meetings.
