Senior Planner

Responsibilities

• Apply technical knowledge across planning and consenting work streams
• Oversee environmental compliance and consenting maintenance activities across the State Highway network
• Assess third party applications, including through FTAA processes
• Respond to and consent emergency works
• Assist principal planners with Roads of National Significance FTAA approvals
• Build relationships with key local stakeholders for land use decisions
• Represent NZTA at hearings and community meetings and provide advice for decision making

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in Resource Management Act (RMA) regulatory process
• Understanding of other relevant statutes including Heritage New Zealand Pouhere Taonga Act, Wildlife Act and Conservation Act
