Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION: Will be responsible for the day to day running of the Shaft Section which includes the Shaft, Marshalling Yard, Surface Change Houses, Decline, and Surface area around the Pit.

Tasks and Responsibilities

• Ensure the Shafts is operated in a safe and responsible manner to ensure compliance with the MHSA
• Coordinate shaft examinations and enforce compliance to MHSA MA Regulation 16.73
• Maintain the shaft bottoms
• Responsible for the logistics in and around the shaft area.
• Manage costs and overtime
• Control and lead shaft crews effectively and manage time and attendance
• Ensure compliance with the Mine Health and Safety Act as well as adherence to the relevant Mine COP’s, procedures and standards
