Summary

The Woods Teacher will lead a hands-on, project-based classroom where students develop craftsmanship and technical skills in wood processing and furniture construction. The instructor is responsible for teaching the fundamental and advanced principles of woodworking, maintaining a safe and modern woodshop environment, and fostering a “Maker” mindset through the creation of physical prototypes.


This position is for the 2026-2027 school year.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement a multi-level woodworking program including:

  • Basic Woods: An introductory course focused on safety, hand tools, and small-scale project construction.

  • Advanced Woodworking: A rigorous course focused on furniture design, advanced joinery, and complex assembly techniques.
