About the Role Service Stream's Energy division are currently seeking a Accounts Payable and Payroll Specialist to join our growing company. Nature of position: Permanent, Full Time Location: Morwell, VIC Reporting Line: Service Delivery Manager Key Responsibilities The Accounts Payable and Payroll Specialist is a key member of the finance team responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects related to accounts payable and payroll processes. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a comprehensive understanding of financial transactions. The Accounts Payable and Payroll Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness in financial operations. Accounts Payable: Process and review invoices, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies. Reconcile vendor statements and address discrepancies or issues promptly. Communicate effectively with vendors to resolve payment-related queries. Prepare and process payments, including checks, electronic transfers, and ACH transactions. Maintain organized and up-to-date records of accounts payable transactions. Payroll: Administer and process bi-weekly or monthly payroll for employees. Verify timekeeping records and address discrepancies. Calculate and process payroll deductions, including taxes, benefits, and garnishments. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to payroll. Handle payroll inquiries and resolve issues in collaboration with HR. Financial Reporting: Generate reports related to accounts payable and payroll for internal and external stakeholders. Provide accurate and timely financial information for management decision-making. Compliance and Documentation: Stay informed about changes in accounting and payroll regulations. Ensure compliance with company policies, as well as local, state, and federal regulations. Maintain accurate and well-organized financial records. Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, HR, and other departments. Participate in audits and provide necessary documentation. About You For success in this role, you're an adept professional with a proven track record in accounts payable and payroll. We're looking for someone with demonstrated expertise and several years of relevant experience in these roles. You should demonstrate and possess the following: Proven experience in accounts payable and payroll roles. Solid understanding of accounting principles and payroll regulations. Proficient in accounting software and payroll systems. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Commitment to health, safety, environment, and industry best practices Working Conditions Standard office hours with occasional flexibility based on workload. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
