As an APS 5 Technical Data Officer (Draftsman), working in the Technical Data Unit, Directorate of Engineering, Guided Weapons and Explosive Ordnance Group) in the Department of Defence, you will be working with some of the most exciting and complex guided weapons and explosive ordnance products used by the Australian Defence Force.
You will manage engineering technical draftsman activities, within the Technical Drawing Team, where you will spend your days:
Investigating, analysing and reporting on Engineering Technical/Engineering drawing concepts and risksAssist the Team Leader and senior Tech Specialists with operational and administrative functions of the Technical Drawing TeamAssist with the creation, maintenance and validation of compliant technical data and Technical/Engineering drawingsProvide advice to stakeholders, enabling good technical decisions with quality and timely engineering adviceExercise sound initiative and judgment in applying appropriate practices and proceduresExcellent written and oral communication skills are an integral aspect of this roleYou must be able to network/communicate at all levels including engaging with outside organisations to achieve objectives $83,706 - $89,659 (plus Super)Penrith - NSW The Role

There may be some domestic business travel associated with this position.
This position will be required to access US export controlled materiel and therefore applicants will be requested to disclose any dual citizenship with another country during the recruitment process. Dual citizens may be subject to further assessment and appointment to this position will be conditional upon approval to access US controlled export material in accordance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
