Wilson Park School is located in Lismore. The school provides education for students with a disability from Pre-School to Year 6 in the primary school and from Year 7 to Year 12 in the secondary school. In 2023 the school has 75 students attending and 25% of these students are from an indigenous background. The school supports learning through an inclusive curriculum providing learning adjustments for every student.
Specific Selection Criteria
In addition to the general selection criteria:
Approval to teach special education and/or demonstrated successful experience teaching students with an intellectual disability, autism and/or challenging behaviours. Demonstrated capacity to manage technology resources throughout the school, utilise technology as a tool to support student access to the curriculum, and provide ongoing support for staff. 1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies
