Role The Careers & Pathways Leader will work cooperatively with internal and external stakeholders to provide high-quality leadership in all school operations. Within this framework, the Careers & Pathways Leader will focus primarily on the following key elements:
Develop a three year whole school career and pathway action plan that will improve pathways for all students. Ensuring that Cranbourne West Secondary College¿s vision, values and principles of Teaching and Learning continue to be consistently implemented and embedded across the school Providing exemplary educational leadership through the key area of development and implementation of Careers and Pathways programs across the school Leading the development of effective strategies for assisting all students in their transition (both internally and externally to the school) with career education and development. Lead and advise the whole school community on best practices in careers and pathways. At Range 5, your responsibilities include providing professional expertise and advice to support the delivery of services and careers curriculum for students in Year 7 through 12. This role extends beyond your immediate work area, as you collaborate with other staff members and engage with the school community to achieve specific objectives. This may involve working with alumni on career events and partnering with external stakeholders. In your role, you will be guided by the needs of our students, Year Level Teams, and Inclusion and Wellbeing teams.

As the Careers and Pathways Leader, you are instrumental in realising this vision by facilitating connections and ensuring that our students are well-prepared for their future endeavours.
ResponsibilitiesCareers and Pathways Leader Responsibilities include:
¿ Supporting the development of the school¿s Strategic Plan and contributing to the implementation of goals and priorities
¿ Maintaining a leading role in the career education and pathway development of all students 
¿ Fostering and building a strong team culture within the Careers team and across related areas within the school
¿ Lead and manage the delivery of a range of career support services across the school/s involving a range of work areas: VCE VET, SWL, SBATs, Career Action Plans, Subject Selections, Year 9 Morrisby, Year 10 Work Experience, Case Management of students at risks and Transition from school exemptions and exits.
¿ Leading the process of individual student careers counselling.
¿ Provide culturally aware career development programs and services for indigenous and Cultural and Linguistic Diversity students.
¿ Managing and supervising the coordination and delegation of all aspects of the Careers & Pathways team, which includes (but is not limited to) the following:
¿ Careers Counselling.
¿ Career Resources.
¿ Subject Selection process.
¿ Careers Curriculum design and delivery.
¿ VTAC Counselling.
¿ VCE / VET / SBAT.
¿ Work Experience.
¿ SWL (Structured Workplace Learning).
¿ Tertiary Institute partnerships.
¿ Attendance of Student / Parent meetings when relevant to pathways.
¿ Representation of CWSC at Career related meetings.
¿ Supporting staff to deliver Careers Curriculum across the College.
¿ Organising and leading regular Career & Pathway team meetings.
¿ Meeting regularly with team members to monitor their roles and support their work.
¿ Manage Careers Education & VET budgets.
¿ Utilising data to identify trends in student and industry needs.
¿ Building a culture of shared responsibility where all members of the Careers & Pathway Team contribute to meeting expected outcomes.
¿ Maintaining high levels of accountability for agreed responsibilities across the team.
¿ Coordinate Career Education delivery and materials to all year levels.
¿ Evaluate careers program (inclusive of counselling & careers education).
¿ Deliver a College Data Report to the Principal Class.
¿ Research visits to other schools and providers re: curriculum, programs, VET Curriculum and best practice.
¿ Manage the Destination Data, following up tracking six months after exit or until over 17 years old.
¿ Manage the Alumni program
¿ Deliver VTAC & Pathway materials and undertake VTAC & Pathway interviews with each Year 12 student seeking tertiary further studies or employment.
¿ Manage Career Referrals.
¿ Organise Events and Career excursions for relevant year levels.
¿ Celebrating student growth and success in relation to student pathways.
¿ Building and maintaining effective processes for communicating information amongst all stakeholders.
¿ Building positive relationships with students and parents to ensure effective communication regarding student pathways.
¿ Maintaining high levels of accountability for agreed responsibilities across the team.
¿ Be committed to lifelong learning and undertake appropriate professional development.
¿ Fulfilling and completing any additional roles and responsibilities as allocated by the Principal.

The school will work in partnership with the community to provide authentic learning opportunities and best academic and personal outcomes for all students. Cranbourne West Secondary College is the latest addition of a new secondary school in the rapidly growing suburb of Cranbourne opening as of January 2021 with 198 Year 7 enrolments. Currently the College has 1200 students across Year 7 to Year 10 and is anticipated to grow beyond 2000 students in 2025. Neighbouring schools are relatively large and Cranbourne West Secondary College is expected to grow quickly to meet residents¿ demand for excellence in education, consistent with the vision for the Education State. Cranbourne West Secondary College will provide students with state of the art facilities in STEM and the Visual Arts in its initial stages, with Stage II to provide outstanding Physical Education and Performing Arts spaces to cater for the learning needs of all students. It is proposed the new school will establish a set of guiding principles to inform and guide future community use of both school and community facilities.
