You will provide nursing support and care for clients of the Geelong Withdrawal Unit and support clients seeking to recover from addiction. Nursing staff are employed to cover the 24-hour period with clinical supervision provided by Nurse Team Leader and Nurse Practitioners. What is the Geelong Withdrawal Unit?The Geelong Withdrawal Unit provides a residential medicated withdrawal service for those who are seeking to recover from alcohol and other drugs issues. Clients reside in the Unit during their episode of care and are provided with all meals and facilities.Responsibilities includeClients are fully aware of their treatment plan and inducted into the programmeClients are provided with their withdrawal medication in a respectful fashion and in accordance with their medication chartClients are actively encouraged to participate in the programmeClients feel listened to and involved in their recoveryActivities are monitored and clearly communicated at handover meetingsProfessional, respectful and collaborative relationship is maintained with AOD Support staffThis is a casual position based in Corio, VIC.
