About the talent pool We are establishing a talent pool of Civil Engineers of all levels of experience and in a variety of disciplines including civil (roads, structural and stormwater) engineering to join our Infrastructure Delivery Branch. The responsibilities of each of these positions will vary based on experience of the successful candidate but may include: Engineering and design delivery of major city and capital works infrastructure Design and construction methodology placing construction and design risk at the forefront of our design solutions Continuity of engineering inputs from feasibility, concept, optioneering to design solutions and construction phase support. Develop and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders and negotiate robust outcomes for Council. Assessing design change requests and responding to construction requests. Manage specialist contractors and external engineering service providers. Provide advice to internal stakeholders and project partners. Present project updates, reporting, and consult with Council, Government, community and external stakeholders. Lead, coach and mentor teams and junior engineers, demonstrating responsibility and leadership behaviours Conform to policies, procedures and legislative requirements; ensuring design output meets Quality, Workplace Health and Safety, and Environmental standards Review and certification of engineering design packages. How you'll make a difference You will play a significant part in planning and engineering the Gold Coast's City Plan, delivering exciting and innovative future projects. As a member of the engineering team, you will undertake feasibility studies, implement creative design and construction solutions that are value for money for the City. Working in partnership with our Project Managers, you will have engineering design focused responsibilities across a multitude of capital works projects including: Engineering and design delivery of major city and capital works infrastructure Design and Construction methodology placing construction and design risk at the forefront of our developed solutions. What you'll bring to the City You will have a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering Hold or eligible to obtain Registered Professional Engineer Queensland (RPEQ) Registration status through a recognised engineering authority Engineering and design delivery experience within an engineering outcome focused environment Collaboration with a varied range of stakeholders Engineering is your middle name, you can articulate your vision through exceptional planning and execution An unrestricted C Class Driver Licence so you can drive to site About the Infrastructure Delivery Branch The Infrastructure and Delivery Branch is a one-stop shop for all infrastructure requirements, which include, project management, engineering, drafting, design, construction, cost estimations, survey and material testing. We implement the delivery of approximately 500 projects each year, including community facilities, roads and rehab, foreshores, bridges, footpaths, landscaping, parks, stormwater and drainage. Our future and varied portfolio includes: Major road and structures enhancing travel within our city and promoting active lifestyles Mobility transition to future modes of travel connecting our community Emergency works following significant events in our naturally unique city Major drainage and stormwater installations and upgrades improving our environment Community facilities to support the Gold Coast's thriving economy Our major projects are diverse ranging from civil / roads, stormwater, and structural design projects, and include major pedestrian / cyclist's facilities as part of the City's strategic active travel network.
