Communications/RF Engineer Job in Canberra Recruiting by KBR

Title: Communications/RF Engineer The Company Kellogg Brown and Root (KBR) is a leading Defence and Government professional services provider. The Role Due to ongoing growth, we are looking for an experienced RF or Communications engineer, holding a Bachelor of Engineering as a minimum, with post-graduate qualifications highly regarded. You will have experience in testing, technical compliance and assurance of engineering deliverables, ideally withing a Defence environment.

As a Radio frequency/ communications engineer, you will be working in a fast-paced Defence environment. You will work under supervision to evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria, using judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications where required.

Primary responsibilities include: + Provide specialist contributions in RF testing, measurement and prediction of all facets of project work associated with the design, installation and commissioning of wireless coverage solutions. + Conduct site surveys, RF measurement and prediction surveys and delivering wireless design solutions.

+ Support proposal and project activities including preparation of technical documentation for submissions. + Generate site feasibility reports and have a sound understanding of RF compliance related issues.

+ Perform RF optimisation with recommended parameter optimisation and physical changes for KPI performance improvement + Troubleshoot physical site related issues + Understand and develop requirements. + Design and develop radio communications systems.

+ Integrate and test sensors and communications systems in both the lab and the platform. + Develop link budgets and link performance analysis.

+ Understand modulation and coding and their impacts on radio link performance. + Seek opportunities for design and process improvement.

+ Provide support and troubleshooting during installation in the platform. + Develop technical documentation.

+ Provide guidance and coaching to less experienced engineers. Experience and Qualifications + Engineering degree + Demonstrated Comms/RF Engineering experience in Defence/Defence Industry + Experience with CASG (Gates 0-2) + Have an Australian Government security clearance – Minimum NV1 KBR’s commitment to Zero Harm means that we are dedicated to improving the health and wellbeing of our staff and the communities we operate in.
