What will this role achieve? The UK Consumer & Market Insights team operates at the heart of our business, challenging current thinking and proactively moving the business forward and driving profitable growth. The Savoury Snacking Consumer Insight Controller will play a pivotal role in supporting the UK&I Insights Director, and the Savoury Snacking Marketing Director to develop and accelerate our consumer-centric Social snacking strategy, working on the iconic Jacobs and Mini Cheddars brand portfolio. You will work deeply alongside their commercial colleagues, identifying growth, developing winning strategies and optimizing execution.
What will be your key deliverables? Deliver ground-breaking human insights that support the development and execution of the Social Snacking portfolio, brand building and innovation strategy for Pladis UK&I.Champion Demand Centric Growth – Demonstrating our BCG demand space insights on where to play and how to win in order to drive growth in Social Snacking. Identifying the stretch potential of our Social Snacking brands to tap into new whitespace demand areas to fuel faster growth.Actively support the Social Snacking (SS) Marketing director in the development and execution of their Innovation strategy.Provoke future thinking, by demonstrating relevant consumer & cultural trends & foresights, that will lead the development of hard-working fast growing & long-lasting innovation.Lead the development of a winning SS 3 years innovation pipeline through the identification of SS snacking Innovation platforms that will drive strong idea generation and concept development in order to help Pladis to move to a leading position in Social Snacking.Lead the delivery of world-class innovation insight, including product, pack and price development, ensuring best-in-class commercializationDevelop and lead the execution of a consumer-centric research plan that will inform SS brand building and Coms strategy.Inspire the business on the strengths of our SS brands, through an advantaged understanding of Distinctive Brand Assets, their cultural relevance, existing associations/strengths, and their power to drive macro-snacking growthDrive accelerated growth of Jacobs Masterbrand through the development of world-class communication and activation strategiesWork in close collaboration with senior partners, our CMO, VP R&D, Net Revenue Management and customer teams as well as the Global Insights team.Manages CMI SS brand building and innovation insight budget Bring your experience
A minimum of 12 years of CMI experience with another FMCG manufacturer, ideally within Impulse/Snacking categories, with a solid understanding of brand building and innovation research methodologies.Demonstrates a high level of intellectual curiosity; can synthesise multiple disparate data sources into compelling growth strategies – clearly sees 'the big picture'.Must be a strong storyteller. Motivates action through fact-based, inspirational material – verbal, written & presented.Has a bias for action, is agile and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.Demonstrate excellent partner management skills.Strong commercial competence: Can easily see how Insights can improve business impact. Thinks holistically about the full commercial journey; is less interested in 'knowledge for knowledge' sake but is driven to improve business performance.Embraces challenges and risks: Not afraid to stand alone and 'speak the truth' regardless of position or level.
