ABOUT THE ROLE This role involves supporting the OCMS team in delivering critical Signalling Escrow projects at Metro, including Sub-optimal CBI, JZA upgrades, and Dark Territories. The role focuses on ensuring successful project delivery while maintaining uninterrupted train services. Responsibilities include managing commercial aspects, corporate governance, and risk mitigation for the complex works within the Signalling Escrow program in alignment with OCMS Train Control and Signalling Renewals. This is a 24 month, maximum term role. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Strongly disciplined contract management and support of existing processes. Ensure high quality management of supply contracts and a close working relationship with centralised supplier commercial team. Use negotiation, influence and mediation skills to help resolve commercial disputes and any other matters requiring consideration and decision. Lead monthly reviews of commercial risks for the portfolio, tracking and reassessing risk status. Support Project Managers in various tasks, including progress claim assessment, pricing scheduling development, tender evaluation, contractor change assessment, and contract financial close out. Apply earned value management tools to interpret data, providing timely insights and recommendations on portfolio and program performance. Interface with external suppliers, participate in internal cost review sessions contributing to robust forecast and cost outcome reporting. Engage the internal legal team in commercial matters as required. Ensure compliance with Procurement and Finance requirements to provide accurate, timely, quality accrual, cost and claim management processes. Manage timeliness, accuracy, and compliance in relation to supplier invoicing and interface data with the accounts team. Chair meetings effectively, presenting commercial options in areas of contractual ambiguity or gaps, overseeing governance of core processes, and resolving conflicts requiring resolution. ABOUT YOU Tertiary qualification in finance/business or equivalent. Extensive experience in Finance / Commercial Management. Extensive knowledge of current cost control and project management techniques. Experience in commercial management and corporate governance (and risk mitigation) in a complex and/or multiple project environment. High level of experience in using Word, Excel & Outlook.
