Council’s Community Partnerships Branch is recruiting for the position of Diversity & Inclusion Officer R2477
This position is key to building relationships and connections within our community. A fulltime opportunity offering monthly RDO’s and flexible work arrangements in line with Councils Policies.
Position Objectives
The officer will be responsible for:
- Providing advice and links between community and Council that support appropriate and inclusive practices.
- Facilitating projects, partnerships and initiatives that encourage and support individuals, groups and members of diverse communities to participate in civic and community life.
- Effectively engaging stakeholders to produce, implement and review, evidence based strategies and plans that enhance community wellbeing, generate positive social change and promotes inclusiveness within the local community.
- In alignment with relevant legislation, policies and procedures, develop, implement and evaluate strategies, plans, policies and processes that underpin the delivery of the program objectives.
- Working collaboratively, to facilitate and support organisational change and innovation that celebrates and acknowledges the diversity of the local community.
- Supporting community members in the event of an emergency as a part of Councils emergency management process.
- Participating in opportunities for improvement aimed at increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of the service, Community Development Team, Community Partnerships Branch and Council.
Qualifications and Experience
Ideally the successful applicant will have the following:
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field and/or experience in social planning, social development and/or community development.
- Experience in working with diverse communities around social inclusion and access issues.
Salary and Conditions
The position is classified within Band 6 of Council’s Current Enterprise Agreement ranging from $90,876 to $98,943 per annum plus statutory superannuation.
