You will have design influence and the scope of the job will be varied covering widely different requirements.This is a permanent full-time role based in our Birmingham office (outside the Clean Air Zone) with occasional onsite customer visits across the UKYour role will involve:Supporting customer review meetings and generating proposal / specification documentsReviewing designs ensuring they are not over engineered for customer applications and producing accurate BOM’s for hand over to purchasing and manufacturingProducing technical drawings and schematics as requiredGood document control including engineering change control and drawing revisionCreating documentation and performing risk analysis reviews to support UKCA / CE marking as appropriateYou will be working on:MOBILE ROBOT SYSTEMSJUST-IN-SEQUENCEMANUFACTURING SYSTEMSLOGISTICS SYSTEMSQualification and EducationDegree or HND / HNC in a relevant disciplineTransferable skills from time served engineers will also be taken into consideration.Preferred Skills / Experience3 years of experience with good understanding of bespoke machine buildingKnowledge and experience of pneumatic systemsAn understanding and experience of vehicle electrical systems & schematics would be beneficial, but not essential, with knowledge of Electronics, PC/PLC Control Systems a bonus.Experience in SolidWorks, but other package history will be considered, and trainingcan be providedGeneral workshop equipment understanding is appreciatedAdditional:We are looking for dynamic self-starters who can work proactively and as part of a teamA desire to understand how and why systems function is critical as well as the ability to overcome problems as they arise, as are the abilities to be self-disciplined, motivated, quick thinking and technically astute.The occasional need to work on client sites.Full Driving license and own car is beneficial.What we offerAt Sorion, your growth is central to our success.
