About the role It's an exciting time to join Senex with the recent announcement that we plan to invest more than A$1 billion in a major expansion of our Atlas and Roma North natural gas assets. We are on the hunt for an Environmental Compliance Officer to join us for a two (2) year Maximum Term contract who will be responsible for providing environmental compliance advice and support across all Senex Energy's activities including exploration, drilling, construction, production operations and rehabilitation in the Surat Basin. This role will have you being able to showcase your environmental skillset to provide advice and support (both office and field based) while focusing on ensuring on-ground activities are being conducted in accordance with regulatory environmental approval conditions and Senex's minimum environmental standards per the Heath, Safety, Environment Management System (HSEMS). Every day will be different. One day, you might find yourself in the bustling corporate headquarters of Brisbane, while the next, you could be out in the field, engaging with contractors amidst the tranquil surroundings of a paddock. Your role will involve crucial conversations with contractors, providing guidance on environmental risk management and ensuring compliance with regulations. You will also find yourself completing environmental monitoring and delivering environmental awareness sessions to key stakeholders. You have the option to be based in Roma or Brisbane with travel between the two locations and across our assets in the Surat Basin. About You You hold a degree in Environmental Science/Management and boast significant experience in environmental management or compliance, ideally within the Queensland Coal Seam Gas industry. You thrive on challenging the status quo and possess strong negotiation and influencing skills. Your ability to navigate disputes and conflicts is unmatched, ensuring project compliance while fostering collaborative relationships. Your expertise lies in environmental regulation and compliance, and you bring a wealth of technical knowledge across various environmental domains, including flora and fauna ecology, erosion and sediment control, biosecurity, rehabilitation techniques, and environmental monitoring. You are well-versed in State and Federal Environmental Approvals, confidently navigating associated condition sets to ensure regulatory compliance. A full driver's license is essential for this role, enabling you to travel and fulfill your responsibilities effectively. What's in it for you?
