Hastings Deering are currently recruiting an Executive Manager for our Safety and Sustainability team. This role primarily exists to provide safety leadership and direction for the Hastings Deering Group of Companies by setting strategy, cultural change initiatives and programs to drive best practice safety standards to achieve a No Harm culture.
This role will provide leadership and strategic direction on all areas of safety and sustainability and ensuring compliance requirements with company and client/customer safety management systems, standards, and processes. The role will set and drive targeted strategies and initiatives to continuously improve safety and sustainability performance. This is achieved by instilling and upholding our values on No Harm, Integrity, Transparency and Care for All with a specific focus on Safety, Health & Sustainability.
The key responsibilities of this role will include, but not be limited to:
Lead and provide mentorship to the HSE team to ensure HDMG is efficient and deployed to support our vision
Deliver expert support and advice on implementation and compliance with legislation, international standards, and internal procedures
Develop, set, and drive health, safety and sustainability strategies to lower risk profile.
Develop and drive cultural changes programs and initiatives to ensure ongoing improvements to our safety performance are achieved.
Ensure that internal and external compliance certifications remain operational and supervise the recertification process with third parties
About You
You will bring the following skills and experience to the role:
Tertiary qualified in OH&S or Risk
Significant Safety Leadership and Industry experience (10 years +)
ICAM or recognised root cause analysis qualifications
Previous experience establishing and maintaining HSE management systems
Layered assurance programs
Critcal Risk management and verification programs.
