General/Business Unit Manager (CEO & General Management) The Company ' Our clients run a reputable timber yard with deep roots in that community, providing high-quality timber products to their customers for over 20 years. Their commitment to excellence, sustainability, and customer satisfaction has earned them a loyal clientele and a respected position in the industry. As they continue to grow and expand, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced General Manager to join their small team. Role Overview As the General Manager of this timber yard, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing daily operations, managing their dedicated team, and driving business growth. Reporting directly to the owner, you will serve as their right-hand person, implementing strategic initiatives, and ensuring operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage all aspects of the timber yard operations, including inventory management, procurement, sales, and customer service. Develop and execute strategic plans to achieve business objectives, drive revenue growth, and expand market presence. Maintain a strong focus on health, safety, and environmental compliance, ensuring all operations adhere to industry regulations and best practices. Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, contractors, and other key stakeholders to optimize procurement processes and ensure product quality. Required Skills 3-5years of experience in a managerial role within the timber industry or a related field. Proven track record of successfully leading and managing teams, driving operational excellence, and achieving business objectives. Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with internal and external stakeholders. Solid knowledge of timber products, industry trends, and regulatory requirements. Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to identify opportunities for business growth and development. Demonstrated leadership qualities, including integrity, resilience, and decision-making skills.
