Reporting to the Director, Collections & Research, the primary purpose of this senior role is to lead the development of access to the Museum's rich and varied collections and to maximise their research impact and reach via digital and in-person modes of discovery and enquiry. This includes strategic and innovative advancement of online collection databases and partnerships, digitisation programmes and specialist digital imaging, research activities and relationships, crowdsourcing and metadata development, and onsite and remote enquiry services. This is a permanent and full-time position.Desired Skills and Experience To be successful in this role, you will offer: Tertiary qualification in a field relevant to the Museum's collections and post-graduate qualification in Digital, Library or Information Management Minimum 10 years work experience in museums or a closely related field. Broad knowledge of Aotearoa New Zealand history and cultures and/or natural sciences. Knowledge of Matauranga Maori as it applies to cultural heritage collections. Must be able to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings, holidays and/or weekends as required. You must be eligible to work in New Zealand to apply for this permanent position.
