An immediate commencment date is preferred, however, this can be negotiated with the successful applicant.  In collaboration with the Principal and members of Administration team the HOD – Learning Support provides educational leadership in the school and the community. The HOD – Learning Support has oversight and leadership of the school funded Educational Support classes and Educational Support teachers. Proven ability to lead the whole school in best practice pedagogical approaches to maximise educational outcomes for students in mainstream classes with imputed and diagnosed disabilities is highly valuable. The successful applicant should bring proven change management skills as the HOD – Learning Support together with the Associate Principal – Curriculum will oversee a restructure of the Educational Support services with the Learning Support team to provide guidance and training to the whole school. A well-developed ability to form and maintain effective working relationships for all stakeholders that improve student outcomes is desirable. The HOD – Learning Support should possess the ability to provide educational leadership to maintain and then increase the level of student progression within the school based Direct Instruction interventions model for students identified in year 7 and year 8 with intense need of literacy and numeracy intervention. Additional responsibilities will include staff training, Education Assistant allocation and management, School Plus and Nationally Consistent Collection of Data.
