To Find out more about Camden Council - https://www.camden.nsw.gov.au/council/about-us/ Your New Role: Reporting to the Chief Information Officer, The Head of Information and BI Services is responsible for empowering Camden Council with data-driven insights and delivering trusted enterprise information assets and mapping products. This role will lead the Data & Insights, Spatial Information Services (SIS) and Enterprise Information Management teams and the development and implementation of comprehensive information and data programs. Key accountabilities: Information & Data Management: Support implementation of a comprehensive Data & Insights strategy, including technology, analytics processes, data governance, and GIS considerations; Collaborate with senior management to align data strategy with Council's objectives and establish roadmaps; Assist with analysing current data architecture and proposing modern enterprise data analytics and management roadmaps; Implement efficient information management practices and data security measures; Drive the identification and provision of reporting tools for informed decision-making; and Stay updated on industry trends to identify improvement opportunities. Build and maintain strong relationships to advance digital transformation; Oversee vendor engagement and procurement processes, ensuring effective outcomes. Leadership: Lead a cross-functional team to deliver enterprise data solutions; Provide strategic direction and leadership across projects and teams; and Collaborate with CIO and team leaders to deliver spatial and data services. Branch Activities: Participate in IT audit and assurance activities. Collaborate effectively with internal teams and represent the Council at networking events. Your Skills & Experience: We'd love to hear from you if you have most of the following key experience/capabilities: Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in information systems and business intelligence management, with exposure to Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and information/records management preferred; Team Leadership: Strong people leader with a proven track record of cultivating high-performing information and data teams; Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of data governance, security, quality principles, and information management frameworks, including spatial and metadata management; Data Proficiency: Extensive knowledge and experience in end-to-end data analytics, insights, and reporting aligned to business performance measures in a complex and diverse environment; Vendor Management Expertise: Familiarity with vendor assessment for external IT service providers, including best practices and risk management; Qualifications: A tertiary degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Geospatial Data Management, Information Systems, Applied Math, or equivalent experience leading information management, business intelligence, and/or GIS teams; and Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, coupled with strong networking abilities, enabling effective collaboration across various branches to achieve diverse goals.
