About the role
As a Community Support Assistant, you will be play a pivotal role promoting independent living amongst elderly members of the community. With a dignified approach, you will support VMCH clients across an array of activities such as:
- Personal care and self-care assistance (showering and dressing support, medication prompting)
- Domestic support
- Meal preparation
- Respite and social support
- Transport and community access
- Accompanying to appointments.

This role will servicing the following areas: Badger Creek, Beenak, Belgrave, Cambarville, Chirnside Park, Clematis, Coldstream, Emerald , Ferny Creek, Gilderoy, Gladysdale, Gruyere, Healesville, Hoddles Creek, Kallista, Kalorama, Kilsyth, Lilydale, Mount Dandenong, Mount Evelyn, Mount Toolebewong, Tecoma, Three Bridges, Toolangi, Toorongo, Tremont, Upper Ferntree Gully, Upwey, Wandin East, Wandin North, Warburton, Warburton East, Wesburn, Woori Yallock, Yarra Glen, Yarra Junction, Yellingbo and Yering
About you
You are a compassionate and respectable individual who enjoys caring for elderly members of the community. You will have a naturally caring nature and love to make a positive impact in peoples lives. Previous experience working with elderly members of the community is desirable along with a sound understanding of safe working techniques and procedures.
We expect individuals to have:
- A minimum of a Cert III in Individual Support/ Home & Community Care/ Aged Care or equivalent
- Current First Aid Certificate (HLTAID003)
- Current CPR Certificate (HLTAID001)
- Current Victorian Drivers license and own vehicle
- Proficiency using a mobile phone and its applications.
