The role is a full time traineeship and has been offered through the AFL Bachar Houli Employment Program to support young aspiring adults of Muslim background to gain employment across the AFL NSW/ACT business.
Working in a local sub region this role will provide a key support to Development Coordinators to plan and deliver growth outcomes across all key strategic areas. Primarily, the role will continue to develop the game of Australian Rules through the implementation and execution of AFL programs to gain maximum participation levels in AFL Auskick, Schools and Alternate Formats programs across Greater Sydney.
The position will have a community focus and also support delivery and execution in key Multi Cultural and Indigenous programs to support greater diversity in all facets of AFL.
The successful applicant will be legally employed by AFL SportsReady, but will work on-site with AFL NSW/ACT and receive an accredited Certificate III in Business qualification (on successful completion). The traineeships will commence in January 2024 and you will work full-time (38 hours per week) for the duration of the school year whilst completing the qualification to compliment the on the job learning.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Deliver and lead a variety of AFL programs through school and community venues
• Ensure programs are delivered at the highest possible standard in line with any program curriculum and AFL expectations
• Mentor new casual staff members to support onboarding process with field activities
• Drive key transition messages with participants and parents
• Supporting booking of key programs in the local sub region
• Liaise with teachers, schools, and other program stakeholders to drive further AFL opportunities in key schools
• Support junior club Auskick centres in relation to recruitment, volunteers, coaching, and promotion
• Support and contribute to the success of the broader team on key projects

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Mandatory
• Well-developed verbal and written communication, interpersonal, presentation skills
• Demonstrated personal initiative and ability to work effectively unsupervised
• Enthusiastic and energetic attitude
• Drivers license and own vehicle
• Working with Children Check or ability to obtain prior to commencement
Desirable
• Experience working with children and young people

SALARY
As the successful candidate, you will receive:
$26,000 – $40,000 plus 11% Superannuation
