ABOUT THE ROLE We are currently recruiting for an experienced Educational Leader for YMCA Calamvale Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) Service; our brand new service opening in January 2024.This is a permanent, part time position. YMCA Calamvale Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) Service is our brand-new service opening in January 2024. The service is located at Calamvale Community College which is an independent Public School with over 2000 students from Prep to Year 12. The service is licensed for 60 children per day and operates from 6am to 9 am in the morning and 3pm to 6pm in the afternoon during school terms. We also operation during school holidays for Vacation Care (6am to 6pm). The service has access to multi-functional rooms and playground area offering a wide range of fun, stimulating and diverse programs that reflect real world experiences and home settings. This helps encourage a sense of community amongst our children, facilitates leadership skill development and allow children to practice social skills in a supported and caring environment. Programs and activities are aligned with the YMCA Mission – to provide opportunities for children to grow in body, mind and spirit – underpinned by our values of Honesty, Caring, Respect and Responsibility. We blend this philosophy with the National Quality Framework 'My Time Our Place' and the School's educational principles to develop appropriate, engaging and most of all FUN activities for your child whilst in our care. ABOUT THE POSITION This position will lead the development and implementation of the education program by promoting children's well-being, development and learning by helping the children develop values, attitudes and ways of living and learning. This will be achieved by providing a high quality of care, activities and educational elements to those in the program, managing and promoting a team environment and working within the YMCA of Brisbane Long Day Care services' philosophy, policies and procedures. Lead the development and implementation of the educational program and assessment with the support of Assistant Coordinator/Coordinator Ensure children's learning and development informs the design of the educational program, and Educators facilitate and extend each child's learning and development; Liaise effectively with parents, staff and all internal and external stakeholders; Make recommendations for improvements to educators' educational programs and practices; Mentor and support educators understanding of the educational program and practice including how to reflect on the effectiveness of their programs, interactions, intentional teaching and other strategies; Ensure compliance with policy; Undertake administrative requirements; Work collaboratively with families and the school community.
