The successful candidate will have knowledge of, and comply with, relevant legislative frameworks, government decision-making and the mission and strategic requirements of ACMC and Defence.
About our Team
The Australian Civil-Military Centre's (ACMC) mission is to support the development of national civil-military capabilities to prevent, prepare for and respond more effectively to conflicts and disasters. In implementing its mission, the ACMC promotes best practice civil-military-police engagement in conflict and disaster management.
ACMC is a small dynamic organisation with approximately 30 staff drawn from permanent staff from the Department of Defence augmented by secondees from Australian Government departments and agencies (Defence, Foreign Affairs and Trade, Home Affairs and the Australian Federal Police), the New Zealand Government, and the Australian Council for International Development (Australia’s peak non-government sector body).
The Concepts and Capability Directorate brings together cross-agency programs on new and emerging civil-military-police concepts, such as Stabilisation, with programs that support the development of civil-military-police capability through preparedness, lessons and evaluation, and humanitarian-government coordination.
Our Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will have considerable stakeholder engagement experience (internal and external to Defence) and will consult with key Partner Agencies and Regional Partners in relation to exercise design and execution, civil-military coordination capacity building and preparedness issues. They will be required to identify, anticipate and respond to stakeholder needs and expectations to achieve ACMC and Defence outcomes. The successful candidate must work collaboratively within a small team environment, build effective relationships with team members, and actively participate in group activities.
