Principal Structured Query Language (SQL) Administrator and Developer - Financial Business Systems

We are seeking a Principal Structured Query Language (SQL) Administrator and Developer who will lead a small team in the development of custom SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) reports and dashboards, manage and administer a SQL Data Mart, including data modelling, optimisation, implementation, integration, maintenance and support. This is a permanent full-time position.

About the Role: Responsibilities include, but not limited to;
Provide technical database, analysis, design, implementation and applications administration support and lead a team of developers in the SSRS environment. Ensure that developments adhere to the Software Development Life Cycle, including specification, code development, unit testing and applying existing standards and change and release management practices. Report and maintain statistical and historical metrics to measure and monitor service delivery. Provide consultancy to programmers to assist in the optimisation of development databases. Build working relationships with customers and team members through the use of effective communication skills and analyse business requirements to provide design guidance and advice. Actively develop, implement and maintain standards, guidelines and knowledge base articles for database installation, administration and support while ensuring compliance to change control processes, relevant industry standards, government and departmental policies. Develop reports and dashboards using the SSRS environment and thoroughly unit test all developments. The Principal SQL Database Administrator and Developer reports to the SAP Technical Manager, Financial Business Systems, Financial Services, Finance, Procurement and Facilities Division.
Highly desirable skills and experience;
A tertiary qualification in Information and Communications Technology. Certification as a MCSE (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer) for Business Intelligence Please refer to the attached role description for any mandatory requirements for this position.
