Why Your Role Matters:
The School of the Arts and Media is seeking a Lecturer Level C or D to contribute to teaching and research in our media programs, including public relations and advertising, communications and journalism or digital media cultures.
In this position, you will assume a leadership role as the Program Director for two Masters programs in Journalism & Communication and Public Relations & Advertising for a period of two years (with a one-year extension option).
In this capacity, you will play a pivotal role in advancing educational excellence and innovation, ensuring the overall student experience within the programs.
You will have a proven track record of excellence in education leadership, with an emphasis on dynamic pedagogical approaches with international students.
A key component of this role involves the development/design of innovative teaching and learning, including curriculum design and development.
As the Program Director, you will ensure the implementation of academic guidelines, procedures and integrity within the program.
You will also undertake and produce high-level research in a relevant field of media and communications and be able to demonstrate a successful track record of grants and/or publications.
At the conclusion of the Program Director tenure, you will have an ongoing full-time position.

The role reports to the Head of School and has no direct reports.
Skills and experience required as a Level C:
• A PhD in Media or a related discipline (or equivalent).
• Demonstrated capacity to teach effectively at tertiary level, including an ability and interest in developing and implementing innovative teaching methods
• A demonstrated track record of research, with evidence of publications of high quality and impact, and the capacity for research leadership
• Experience in successfully recruiting and/or supervising high-calibre HDR students and in chairing and/or participating in HDR confirmation and review panels
• Demonstrated experience in educational design, development and delivery at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level, including experience using and/or designing educational technologies and using online delivery methods
• Demonstrated success in initiating curriculum development and improvement and in implementing new educational technologies and online delivery methods
Level D (in addition to the above):
• Leadership in research, including: o a track record of internationally recognised research, with publications of high quality and impact, experience in initiating, collaborating on and delivering on research projects, successful HDR completions, and success in obtaining or a demonstrated willingness to apply for external research funding
• Leadership and evidence of successful achievements in educational design, development and delivery at the undergraduate and/or postgraduate level
• Demonstrated substantial service contributions and success in building collaborative partnerships with the profession, industry and/or wider community
• A demonstrated capacity to provide academic leadership and mentoring to colleagues, including early career academics
