The Partnerships Team designs and delivers new early childhood education initiatives by partnering with key stakeholders, including other government departments, local councils, philanthropic organisations, and the broader early childhood education and care (ECEC) sector. The Program Design Team designs and delivers new initiatives to increase access to and affordability of early childhood education and care, value and grow the early childhood education and care sector, and invest in early childhood teachers and educators through the . The System Stewardship Team guides the department’s interventions to facilitate a sustainable and higher performing ECEC market. Our primary responsibility is delivering the System Stewardship Strategy, an overarching framework that comprises diverse research and strategy projects and also supports ECO teams to work differently. About the role
As a Programs Officer or Policy Officer within the System Stewardship Directorate, you will contribute to a variety of projects that support a range of new early childhood education initiatives which will contribute to organisational objectives and Government commitments.
The responsibilities of a Programs Officer or Policy Officer include:
Provide a range of project management and support services, including preparation of discussion papers, briefs and submissions, to contribute to the development and delivery of policy initiatives. Communicate with stakeholders and coordinate working groups, committee meetings, and stakeholder consultations to support engagement as well as policy development and implementation. Essential requirements of the role
Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline or demonstrated equivalent knowledge and/or experience. A valid Working with Children Check for paid employment. Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education. Key knowledge and experience
