We are looking for an enthusiastic, open-minded, flexible and experienced EL2 Property Director to lead the Property Section in the Business Services Branch. The Director will drive a positive and supportive culture, embedding a commitment to efficiency, value for money and client focused solutions across the span of property needs for the Department. The Director will model effective collaboration for a small team of high-performing professional property and facilities officers, encouraging good communication, a 'how can we help' approach, with a commitment to engaging with stakeholders to provide professional property and facilities solutions on a variety of issues that occur on a daily basis. This role will also oversee the Property Projects team that sit in the Section. The Property Section works closely with internal and external contractors and the Department of Finance to fulfil the legislative requirements of managing Commonwealth tenancies, including our contracted Property Service Provider through the Whole of Government Property Services arrangements. The Property section are also responsible for fleet management and reporting against the Net Zero in Government Operations Strategy. As the EL2 Property Director you will: Lead a high performing busy team who provides Property services across multiple locations, managing small and large contracts for the Department, directing a dedicated Property Project team.Provide engagement and input across a range of APS forums for Property services.Actively develop key stakeholders and supplier relationships to deliver shared outcomes.Deliver gold-standard client services, including liaising closely across the Corporate and Technology Division and the Chief Operating Officer's office to proactively plan the strategic program of work for the Property Section, enabling the Department to respond in a coordinated way to support our major stakeholders, as well as taking a flexible approach for new requirements, contributing to the Business Services Branch and Department's objectives.An ongoing or non-ongoing opportunity is available for the right candidate.Our Ideal CandidateTo be successful in this role you will have: Experience in managing the provision of property services and an operational budget for multiple tenancies.Well-developed relationship building and influencing skills to work collaboratively with senior executives and key internal and external stakeholders.Strong written and oral communication skills, having the ability to prepare clear and concise written advice and reports.A flexible and resilient leader who can motivate and support a diverse and multi-skilled team to succeed.A strong commitment to building and maintaining a vibrant, respectful and inclusive workplace culture.A problem solver, ready to work with your clients to develop timely solutions to deliver projects on time and on budget.
