The News-Leader is looking for a Regional Business Office Manager to play a critical hands-on role in the financial operations for a group of three community newspapers. The successful candidate for this position will be a financial manager who not only leads the region's financial team, but takes an active role in daily operations.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Manage all accounting/business functions for a group of three newspapersEnsures accuracy and reliability of general ledger accounting records for regionPrepare monthly financial statementsDevelops and enhances accounting procedures and internal controlsOversee payroll and human resource administrative functions for the regionMaintains business system software for sales orders, pricing, production, billing, collectionsCoordinate annual budget process for regionProvide financial analysis for ongoing operations and special projectsOversee cash handling processes and bankingOther projects and duties as assignedREQUIREMENTS Bachelor's Degree in Accounting; CPA Preferred5+ years of accounting/finance experience in senior accounting or management roleNewspaper industry experience preferredIntermediate level proficiency in Excel and WordProven analytical and organizational skillsStrong interpersonal and communication skillsSelf-motivated and self-directedThe position includes a base salary, health insurance benefits; dental & vision insurance; life insurance; 401K; and paid vacation and holidays. This is a hands-on full-time position that reports directly to the Regional Publisher.
