Position Profile and Role:
The Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) is seeking to appoint experienced nurses who can provide high level specialized care to our infants, children and young people in our inpatient Ward, at the Perth Children’s Hospital (PCH).
You will provide comprehensive and evidence-based nursing care to patients as part of a multidisciplinary team. You will demonstrate competence in clinical practice by delivering individualised care using a problem-orientate approach to patients with complex problems. You will provide patient care activities by providing goal-directed treatment and effective liaison with senior nursing and other health care personnel.
As the only State Paediatric Trauma Centre in Western Australia, we have flexible part time and full time shifts available and an opportunity to develop your skills in a leading tertiary environment. If you have experience in Adult mental health nursing and do not have paediatric mental health experience, training can be provided to upskill. Immediate opportunities are available for Registered Nurses.

About Directorate:
The Mental Health Inpatient Unit at PCH is the state-wide assessment and treatment facility for children and young people up to 16 years old with complex and acute mental health issues. It is a recovery-focused patient and family-centered service.
It offers a seven-day multidisciplinary program in a safe environment for voluntary and involuntary patients as authorised under the Mental Health Act (2014).
The unit offers short term assessment, brief intervention and therapeutic group programs, depending on the needs of the patient. We also accept referrals from therapists, specialists, GPs, schools and other community organisations.

The Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) in Western Australia offers support, advice and treatment to young people and their families who are experiencing mental health issues. Children and families are referred to Mental Health by their treating therapist, specialist, GP, School or other community organisation. CAMHS provides recovery-focused programs, and services for children from birth up until a person turns 18 years old. We are in the community and in hospital. Families may receive services from one or more of these areas.
