The Adult Acute Unit (AAU) is a critical component of mental health services in the Grampians region, providing a crucial 23-bed acute inpatient facility for individuals in need of intensive, short-term mental health treatment. This facility plays a pivotal role in the community, ensuring that individuals facing acute mental health crises receive the care and support they require.

All staff are supported by a strong team culture, and staff new to the Mental Health field are provided with training and support to further develop skills.
As part of wider mental health services, AAU implements safewards principles (a model designed to improve safety of everyone in the environment by reducing conflict and flashpoints) and commence recovery-oriented practice.
Key Responsibilities

Hold a current Nursing Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse Div 1Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively, manage competing priorities and meet varied deadlines in a timely mannerRelevant experience in, and ongoing commitment to the delivery of evidence based best practice and family inclusive treatments for a person with a mental health disorderDemonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skillsDemonstrated awareness of relevant legislation and related rights and responsibilities Culture & Benefits
