The successful candidate will conduct independent research and work with the group of Professor Gavin Brennen in collaboration with the quantum security company BTQ Technologies. As a key member of our Quantum team, you will lead the development of quantum algorithms for distributed consensus.Your responsibilities will include: developing quantum algorithms, developing streamlined code for simulating quantum Proof-of-Work (QPoW) consensus based on quantum sampling. designing and implementing a test network for QPoW to evaluate communication overheads, identifying problem difficulty specifications, security analysis, and robustness, and leveraging experimental data from physical boson samplers to assess protocol performance.About UsThe newly merged School of Mathematical and Physical Sciences represents a continuation of the traditions of the disciplines of Applied Mathematics, Astronomy, Physics, Pure Mathematics and Statistics at Macquarie University.Macquarie is a university engaged with the real and often complex problems and opportunities that define our lives. Since our foundation 59 years ago, we have aspired to be a different type of university. Over the years, we've grown to become the centre of a vibrant local and global community. .
