Senior Director, Strategy Innovation and Responsive RegulationFull-time TemporaryDetails: Education and Care Regulation and Support is seeking to fill a temporary Senior Director position.Education and Care Regulation and Support (ECRS) is the ACT Regulatory Authority administering legislation covering approved childhood education and care services and licensed childcare services in the ACT.The Senior Director is responsible for:Leading on ECRS’s regulatory responsibilities, governance, strategy, accountability and policy.The ongoing administration of the educate and inform function for education and care services and the development and review of strategy relating to the conduct of regulatory responsibilities.Management and oversight of submissions, briefs, ministerial correspondence and national briefing.Management of reviews and litigation arising from compliance actions.Working collaboratively with the Directorate’s executive and regulators to support compliance with legislative and statutory obligations, including in ACT public preschools. Relevant legislation includes the Early Childhood Education and Care Act 2010, ACT Education Act 2004, the Teacher Quality Institute Act and Reportable Conduct Law.Representing the Directorate on National Early Childhood forums and reporting to and providing strategic advice to the senior executive and Government on matters relating to the regulatory portfolio.Contract management of ACT and National policy initiatives.Development and implementation of legislative reform.Eligibility/Other Requirements:The Senior Director role requires leadership and expertise in delivering and briefing on regulatory services, including monitoring policy and communications functions and overseeing reviews of regulatory decisions. A strong knowledge of regulatory law is also desirable.
