About the Role
An exciting opportunity has become available for a Senior Financial & Project Analyst to join the Financial Services team. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer this role is responsible for long term and complex financial planning, modelling and analysis. It plays a key role in managing the City’s long term financial position through asset optimisation strategies and application of strong fiscal decision making.
This role directly prepares, manages and reports on the achievement of the City’s 10-year LTFP and ensures the quality assurance of financial data and assumptions within integrated reporting and planning documents. The role also plays a key role in driving business improvement initiatives and prepares other financial modelling and analysis as required.
What are we looking for?
To be successful in this role you will need:
- At least 5 years of practical experience in management accounting, financial planning, reporting and control (desirable).
- Demonstrated ability to use sound financial and risk management skills to deliver organisational outcomes and ensure sound decisions.
- Demonstrated ability to present coherent narratives verbally and in writing to key stakeholders, and within an appropriate context.
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects across the project life cycle.
- Demonstrated ability to model identified and agreed considerations as outcomes towards current and future community service deliveries, in identifying and modelling alternative service delivery approaches, to strategically inform policy development and long-term financial planning.
- Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Financial Management, Economics or a related discipline considerable practical experience in financial planning, reporting and control (desirable).
- A current National Police Clearance
- Chartered Accountant (CA) or Certified Practising Accountant (CPA) (desirable).
