We are growing our Perth team, and we are seeking a Senior Lawyer / Senior Associate to join our market leading Real Estate team in Perth on a full-time basis. The role Working closely with our highly impressive partner Simon Taskunas, who has over 25 years of international corporate real estate experience, and a diverse team including other senior lawyers, you will be engaged in an interesting and challenging variety of major property project work in the renewable energy, social infrastructure, resources, and commercial property sectors. You will work on front-end development projects and investment transactions for various private and public sector clients who include global and ASX-listed property funds management groups, institutional investors, investment banks, onshore/offshore family offices, renewable energy and mining companies, the Commonwealth, State Government GTEs, and local governments. Transactions include renewable energy projects, social infrastructure projects, major commercial property developments, joint ventures, and buy/sell/leasing across different property classes. The team also works closely with our Corporate M&A, Energy and Resources, Construction, Banking and Finance, Commercial Litigation, and Restructuring & Insolvency teams on some of the most significant, challenging and game changing transactions in the State. Being part of our award-winning national Real Estate practice, you will also have the opportunity to work on transactions with other partners and teams from our offices in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Canberra and Darwin. Skills & Experience To be successful in this role, you will have: Experience in commercial property and/or corporate/commercial matters, including negotiating and drafting contracts of sale, leases, development agreements, and other contracts for projects and buy/sell transactions; and managing property due diligence exercises. The ability to listen to and partner with our clients end-to-end. Strong communication skills to assess property-related legal issues and recommend effective solutions. A willingness to build and maintain strong client relationships, both inside and outside the firm. Strong time and legal project management skills. The ability to work as part of a cohesive and supportive team, and experience in mentoring and coaching our junior lawyers.
