About the role SeniorCapital Procurement Business Partner will:
Play a keyrole as a partner in procurement and tendering processes(preferably for public sector) and working collaboratively acrossCouncil to champion our purpose of Growing Townsville and todeliver the Corporate Plan in consultation with the TownsvilleCommunity. This position is accountable to the Chief ProcurementOfficer and will be focused on the delivery of procurementregarding Council's capital plan; negotiating with supplierto deliver value; manage customer relationships, developing aculture of customer-centricity and personal accountability; andreshaping how we deliver services to maximise value.
Thisposition is responsible for delivering effective and efficientspecialist procurement services and advice, supporting bestpractice, defining sourcing strategies that will support thedelivery of the capital program, achieving value for money,partnering with stakeholders to ensure effective procurementoutcomes, providing feedback and input to inform section andorganisational policy and procedure, operating at a strategicmanagement level though having an understanding at the operationallevel, making tender recommendations and developing related reportsand submitting, and providing input and assistance into procurementrelated business cases.
Aboutyou Our Ideal candidate willhave: Demonstrated experience rolemodelling a positive safety culture and adherence to the HealthSafety Management Systems through visible leadership andexercising due diligence and management of compliance andlegislative obligations. Degree in Engineering,Project Management or Procurement/Finance/Legal relatedpreferrable, or minimum 8 – 10 years' experience ina similar position. Experience in managingprocurement/contract activity in large industry. Advanced analytical andproblem-solving skills. Strong negotiationskills. Strong stakeholdercollaboration and customer service skills. Strong influencing andnegotiation skills. Advanced Excel skills,including high level proficiency with the Microsoft Officesuite of products. Excellent communicationskills, including the ability to write advancedreports. Strong ability to interpretfinancial metrics and documents. Exposure to publicsector.
