About the role Forming part of the Health, Safety and Risk Team, theSpecialist – Injury Mangement, Health and Hygiene coordinates injury management and other health and hygiene related matters of the business. Based in Brisbane this role will require frequent site visits to our underground mines in the Bowen Basin. Key Responsibilities include: Build and maintain relationships with appropriate stakeholders (e.g. internal managers, client, insurers, Doctors, rehabilitation providers) to maximise the effectiveness of injury management. Provide advice and support to operational staff and management regarding injury and health matters. Develop and deliver, as required, health related training to the workforce (e.g. ergonomics, manual handling and fatigue). Assist with the administration and collation of factual evidence and documentation for common law investigations and other legal matters associated with workplace injuries and illnesses. Implement and coordinate in the development of targeted workplace health/hygiene initiatives for the mine sites in the Bowen Basin. Maintain the integrity and confidentiality of individual employee details and files. Develop and manage site health and injury related plans (e.g. journey management plans, Medical Management Plans, Return to Work Plans). Review relevant instructions/ procedures as required. Complete and participate in incident investigations where required (relating to work related and non-work-related events). Provide advice on the management of non-work-related injuries and illnesses. Complete and participate in workplace inspections where required. Undertake specific projects as directed by the Head of Health, Safety, Training and Risk. Prepare and present daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly injury management reports and summaries when requested. Any other duty or responsibility as directed by the direct supervisor or upline management. Certified Rehabilitation Coordinator Qualifications highly desirable. Demonstrated experience in Injury Management, Return to Work in a mining industry or similar. Workers Compensation management experience. Strong knowledge of injury management and outcomes. Ability to work with other health care providers to ensure best outcomes for our people. Highly developed negotiation skills with the ability to liaise at all levels of the workforce. Strong time management, organisational skills and teamwork. High level of computer literacy with exposure to the Microsoft suite of programs. Document and report writing. Ability to effectively coordinate programs, projects and consultants.
