This position sits within our Hydrology & Hydrogeology team where you will be working with a supportive team of water professionals who are leaders in their field. This opportunity will provide you with the ability to learn and become a specialist in a wide variety of project work including such projects as: Surface water modelling Wastewater management including Site and Soil Evaluations and Nutrient Irrigation Management Plans Water balance modelling Better Urban Water Management documents Managed aquifer recharge Key Responsibilities Job tasks and responsibilities As part of a growing team in SLR, you will be responsible for carrying out water related technical work to service a broad range of industries and clients. The work will involve assisting in the preparation of tenders and proposals, undertake data analysis and modelling, provide advice to clients and colleagues. The role will be predominately office based although opportunities exist for fieldwork for interested candidates. You will be supported by senior consultants to develop detailed knowledge and understanding of water management to solve complex problems. You will connect with other water professionals within SLR around Australia in various sectors in a collaborative approach and will enjoy working with others in the business and sharing success. Skills and experience At a minimum, successful candidates must have: Tertiary qualifications in civil or environmental engineering or other, related field Strong communication and collaboration skills, and fluency in written and spoken English Ability to write technical reports for review by senior staff Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as work well within a team environment Experience in the following areas will be advantageous to your application: Surface water modelling Ability to analyse and interpret situations and problems, and develop appropriate solutions Experienced using the Microsoft suite Exposure or strong interest in surface water projects, water related soil and land assessments, land development, wastewater management Skills in coding languages such as Python or Visual Basic will be highly regarded Exposure to or experience in GIS software (QGIS, ArcGIS and/or MapInfo) Fieldwork experience including water and soil sampling Exposure to/understanding of the consulting industry will also be highly regarded but is not essential Our benefits at SLR include Our culture is unique where we work together to collaborate on projects to get the best possible outcome for our staff, the business and our clients.
