Albury Public School is located on the NSW/Victorian border, on the lands of the Wiradjuri. Albury Public School is recognised as one of the oldest schools in NSW. First established in 1850, the community is proud of the history of Albury Public School. Whilst recognising its heritage, the school is committed to providing educational programs for today's students which will adequately prepare them for their place in a diverse and changing world. Albury Public School, predominantly, draws from central, east and south Albury, which is now seeing a more diverse and changing community with a school enrolment of 610. The school is currently embarking on a school improvement journey, informed by an in-depth situational analysis, through multidimensional and interrelated focuses on student growth and attainment, wellbeing and a strong leadership of reflective practice. Specific Selection Criteria
Approval to teach infants and primary (K - 6) A proven ability to use evidence-informed practices to deliver differentiated and engaging literacy and numeracy programs to meet the needs of and improve outcomes for all learners. Outstanding interpersonal skills, including the demonstrated ability to work as part of a collaborative team that embraces and implements whole-school improvement, and the demonstrated capacity to establish and maintain positive, communicative, relationships with staff, students, parents, and the wider school community. Demonstrated experience and commitment to enriching opportunities for students by developing, coordinating and implementing whole school extra-curricular programs such as music, ICT and sport. Commitment to whole-school positive wellbeing programs, with a strong emphasis on effective classroom practice and behaviour management strategies. Demonstrated ability to implement policies, strategies and pedagogies to cater for a diverse learning community, including students with disabilities, Aboriginal students and EAL/D students.
