The position consists of a 1.0FTE House Leader (Student Services) role and would suit an aspiring and beginning school leader in the pastoral care space.The successful applicant will be committed to promoting and fostering student engagement and academic achievement in a supportive environment where success is celebrated. You will work collegially with other House Leaders as part of the Positive Support Team to facilitate positive initiatives across the College, and to assist with the behaviour management of Tier 1 and Tier 2 students within your House group. As a House Leader you will be required to provide leadership across the College in relation to pastoral care and social & emotional learning and support the Manager of Positive Support in organising and/or facilitating the College's intervention programs. Part of your role as a House Leader will be to improve the attainment of pastoral care outcomes for students, including attendance, engagement and student leadership.The College has developed strong, innovative partnerships with its local primary schools and community organisations. A commitment to the College's emphasis on pastoral care and social and emotional learning inititives, such as Zones of Regulation and You Can Do It! will be considered favourably, as well as active promotion of the College's vision, motto and values within the College and the wider community. As a House Leader you will be required to provide leadership and guidance in these areas.The ability to display the professional knowledge, understandings and experience to develop and implement an engaging and relevant secondary school learning area curriculum is also highly desirable. As an expert practitioner you should have demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and engage in regular self-reflection. Another desirable attribute is the ability to create environments conducive to learning and provide educational opportunities that are purposeful and relevant, catering for different student learning needs.Teachers at CLC are expected to provide integrated, personalised and authentic learning experiences for students. This will be achieved through the use of High Impact Teaching Strategies (HITS), formative assessment, CMS approaches in building positive relationships and engaging families in their child's learning.
