The Technical Service Engineer will be responsible for collaborating with our US and European colleagues to maintain, repair and service the medical device equipment in Australia/New Zealand as part of our growing business. This will require both in-office and field support for our designated hospitals.
Essential Functions
+ Perform service activities including scheduled preventative maintenance service, upgrades on hardware and software, and reactive repairs on the company medical devices.
+ Provide direct on-site technical support to customers, working in a hospital environment, mainly within outpatient areas and office based service centre.
+ Manage device installations in conjunction with the clinical service team, territory managers and the site operators and Health Care Practitioners.
+ Support the management of technical service operations to meet or exceed key performance indicators (KPIs) and customer service initiatives.
+ Troubleshoot technical problems with the device instruments including working collaboratively to assist other engineers when required.
+ Timely and accurate completion of documentation, as required by local SOPs
+ Ensure compliance with TGA regulatory and health care guidelines, and company policies.
+ Provide telephone technical support.
+ Support third party service engineers to enhance skills and evaluate performance.
+ Communicate with customers via phone and or email to arrange service/repair calls as required
+ Confirm resolution of technical complaints/issues and ensure resolutions are conducted in a timely manner
+ Keep abreast of new company products and services, providing technical expertise and end user input as required
+ Other duties from time to time assigned by line manager.
+ Liaise closely with other Operations team members and other internal departments.
+ Responsible for PPM schedule and Equipment Calibration register.
Minimum Requirements
Education / Experience / Skills:
Education:
+ Tertiary or Technical qualifications in Biomedical Engineering, Electronics, Electrical and/or Mechanical discipline.
Experience:
+ Minimum of 2 years or more technical experience in servicing of equipment, preferably in the field of medical devices
+ Experience in a regulated, and/or global environment is highly desired.
Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
+ Valid full driver’s license
+ Ability to travel interstate and overseas when required.
+ Technical experience in an electronics field with electro-mechanical fault-finding skillset
+ Understanding of servicing to AS/NZS 3551
+ Familiarity with Quality Systems and ISO regulations
+ Basic computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft office applications
+ Writing skill necessary to effectively communicate technical /clinical information to others
+ Verbal skills to clearly and concisely communicate information to customers.
+ Strong customer focus and teamwork aptitude with well-developed interpersonal, communication and listening skills.
+ Analytical and technical mind-set with demonstrated troubleshooting skills.
+ Ability to handle multiple activities, with flexibility to adapt to urgent situations.
+ Must be capable of individual initiative to prioritise and coordinate service activities and travels with direct colleagues.
+ Enthusiastic, dedicated and committed approach to work.
+ Work with and establish solid relationships with diverse groups of individuals both inside and outside of the organization.
+ Work effectively with multi-functional teams.
+ Immunisation as required by health/state regulatory bodies.
+ Possess or ability to obtain National Police Check and Working with Childrens Check.

Organizational Relationship/Scope:
The successful candidate will collaborate regularly with several functional areas within the company locally and globally, including but not limited to, Customer Care, Customer Service and Support, R&D Engineering, Sustaining Engineering, Sales, Marketing, and Medical Affairs teams.
