A truck driver is being investigated after his vehicle reportedly lost control down Beacon Hill Road in Brookvale this morning, crashing into multiple vehicles carrying a combined nine occupants around the Beacon Hill Road/Roger Street intersection with Old Pittwater Road.
Police have confirmed with Manly Observer that they are continuing to investigate the circumstances around the crash but that the 49-year-old truck driver was issued a defect notice.
Nine occupants from the vehicles were assessed by paramedics with two taken to hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

A truck hit multiple vehicles after losing control on Beacon Hill Road this morning, 5 May 2022. NSW Ambulance Inspector Charnan Kurth said one patient was initially trapped, but was freed with the assistance of the ambos and other emergency services. The patient's granddaughter has told us the older woman was still in hospital a few hours later today but doing okay.
Inspector Kurth added:
Paramedics were confronted with a complicated scene on arrival.
This had the potential to be much worse. We encourage motorists to drive with caution especially in peak hour.
One witness recalled there being an almighty screech of brakes before the collision.
The steep Beacon Hill Road into Brookvale is a notorious truck crash zone with a limit of 3 tonnes for trucks.
