Hybrid working, based from either Sydney or Brisbane About the Role As a key member of the Research and Development (R&D) leadership team, the Group Manager – Sustainability will play a pivotal role to lead and provide strategic direction of R&D investments that increase profitability and sustainability for the red meat and livestock industry. This role can be based in either North Sydney or Brisbane. Working collaboratively across the organisation, a key part of the role is to ensure accountability to stakeholders in the effective use of producer levies, government matching funds and commercial income streams that optimise the return on R&D investment for industry. Our ideal Group Manager - Sustainability will need to: Lead a team of passionate sustainability professionals, providing guidance and leadership whilst maintaining a high performing and engaged team. Develop and articulate a vision for the Sustainability group aligned to MLA and industry strategic objectives. Use insights from industry, markets and technology to optimise MLA's research investments for adoption and/or commercialisation. Promote a producer-centric design-led approach. Develop bi-lateral and multi-lateral partnerships with research providers, developers and commercialisers. Actively participate in MLA's Project Review Committee and other collaborative project forums. Ensure all programs function with effective monitoring and evaluation processes in place. Set and monitor agreed budget expenditure and track performance against budget expenditure and milestones. Develop highly effective collaborations and relationships with R&D providers and other stakeholders. Identify, capture and leverage new revenue generating opportunities; and Keep up to date of new science, technologies and innovation developments and opportunities in sustainability. What's on offer?
