The role of the Senior Ward Officer will be vital in supporting the Ward Office in achieving great outcomes through strong office management and administration, setting high standards for customer service and being aware of the various opportunities and challenges for the residents of Walter Taylor. Keeping our community safe and connected is at the heart of everything our Ward Offices do through their interactions with community groups, sports clubs and local residents.As part of a small team your role as Senior Ward Officer will be to lead the Ward Officer in the delivery of highly effective administration and customer service, managing the Ward Office workload and and achieving Key Performance Markers as set by the Councillor. Your professional attitude and leadership experience will enable you to succeed in a busy office environment with complex customer queries, competing demands and the need to re-prioritise when the unexpected arises.To be successful in this role you will have: demonstrated front-facing customer service experience with a strong focus on resolving complex customer queries including ongoing correspondence where necessary, ensuring honesty, fairness, sensitivity and dignity in all interactionsability to maintain oversight across work in progress including the ability to quickly review, understand and brief stakeholders on complex projectsdemonstrated experience in leading an office-based operation providing high quality administrative and secretarial support including overall management of in-progress requests in the Customer Database systemdemonstrated experience in researching and interpreting legislation, policy and guidelines to support the councillor in resolving community queriesdemonstrated organization skills including diary management, organising documents and preparing resources for meetingsdemonstrated experience in writing reports, correspondence and information decks whilst handling sensitive information in line with Council policywell-developed interpersonal and communication skills to liaise effectively with a wide range of customers and Council officers through a variety of channelsability to assist with digital content design and editing and assisting with the management of social media accounts.How to apply: Click on the 'I'm interested' button to complete your online application.
