Shoalhaven District Memorial Hospital is excited to be advertising for a FACRRM to join our dynamic team of clinical leaders working within the department of emergency medicine.

A department that has undergone many changes over the past 2 years, the successful applicant will contribute service provision, department governance, and the development of emergency medicine services within the ISLHD as we strive to provide safe and effective care in accordance with best practice recommendations. Accredited for ACRRM training, the appointee will also play a key role in recruiting and mentoring JMOs appointed to ACRRM training positions within emergency medicine.

With almost 45000 attendances per annum, the emergency department at Shoalhaven District Memorial Hospital is a busy regional ED providing emergency services to both adult and paediatric patients. As a regional hospital with limited services on site, the unit has established links with specialty services at Wollongong Hospital, St George’s Hospital and Sydney Children’s Hospital.

Our department core values focus on providing the best care for patients and looking after the welfare of our staff. Accredited for ACRRM and ACEM training, the department prides itself on its training program and is gaining recognition for the support we provide our JMOs. We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic FACRRM to complement our dedicated senior doctor workforce developing emergency medicine in the Shoalhaven.

Located within 2 hours of Sydney and 2 hours of ACT, the Illawarra is an area of outstanding beauty. Most renowned for its 100 beaches, the area also has a number of national parks offering opportunities for camping and bush walking – making the area a popular holiday destination for people travelling from Sydney, Canberra and Victoria.

The position is being offered as a GP VMO contract renumerated as per the VMO Determination. Both full time and fractional appointments will be considered.

The position is also supported with funding for continuous professional development under the VMO Determination.
