The ideal successful applicant will have the desire and capacity to build on the strong reputation the school has for providing high quality public education. As the Head of Department Student Support, you will have curriculum responsibility for Senior Business, coordination of the Student Well Being Team, Years 9 and 10 Student Well Being, whole of school career education program and Year 10 SET planning. This role will be suited to an energetic and strengths-focused individual who has the ability to lead both strategically and operationally towards shared goals.

Mount Gravatt State High School is a co-educational State Secondary school situated in the southern suburb of Mt Gravatt, located about 10 kilometres from the Brisbane CBD.
This role will be suited to an energetic and strengths-focused individual who has the ability to lead both strategically and operationally towards shared goals.
Y our Role
As the Head of Department you will have responsibility for but not limited to the following:
Be futures oriented and strategic.
Understand the legislation and policies that impact on schooling especially in relation to students and staff within the school department.
Manage the human, financial, facilities and curriculum resources of the school department to achieve goals.
Curriculum responsibility for Senior Business,
Coordination of the Student Well Being Team, Years 9 and 10 Student Well Being, whole of school career education program and Year 10 SET planning.
The implementation of the school’s explicit improvement agenda that includes:
Learning Progression for all students
Thinking proficiency across the Australian Curriculum and Senior Curriculum
Strengthening Senior Outcomes
Reducing teaching learning variability and variance in impact
Staff capability development through:
A problem of practice approach to improvement
Collaborative empowerment through a faculty based Professional Learning Team Coaching and Mentoring
A mandatory requirement of this role is :
Current full registration, or current provisional registration with eligibility for full registration, as a teacher in Queensland.
